For us, the joy of traveling starts long before we actually leave. There’s something magical about sitting around a table, dreaming of a destination, choosing what to see, changing your mind, reshaping plans, discovering a place you didn’t expect. All of this is already part of the adventure.
Good planning is essential, of course: you need to think about flights, transportation, breakfasts, lunches and dinners… but most of all, about where to sleep. When you travel with family, or with other families, like we often do, every detail matters. You need care, attention, and a bit of planning ahead to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Whether it’s a short weekend escape or a longer trip, there are a few simple rules that can make all the difference. Choosing the right destination, crafting your itinerary, and staying open to the unexpected – all of these make a journey truly unforgettable.
And let’s be honest: not everything can or should be planned. Sometimes, the unplanned moment becomes the most beautiful memory.

But above all, one thing truly shapes every trip: the people you travel with.

Solo travel has its charm, of course, but sharing is what turns a trip into a deeper experience. If you're traveling with friends or with multiple families, harmony is key: the children need to get along, the adults need to understand each other, to respect each other’s rhythm, to share interests, costs, and moments of joy. It’s all about connection.

When everything clicks – the destinations, the pace, the people – you come home with a full heart, tired but happy, already dreaming of your next adventure.

By now, you might be wondering: who are Piero and Angela?

Piero and Angela are imaginary characters. They were created to give voice to our way of experiencing and telling the story of travel. We like to make them talk to each other because they reflect who we are: curious, passionate about beauty, discovery, history, and – above all – sharing.
Through their dialogue, they’ll guide you through squares, museums, trails, markets, ancient ruins, and modern wonders, always with an open mind and a fresh perspective.

And when we explore Sicily, a third character joins us: Alberto. He’s also an imaginary voice, and with him we dive deeper into the island’s soul, blending memory, landscape, culture, and identity.

The names we chose – Piero, Angela, and Alberto – are not random. They were affectionately given to us by friends and readers, almost as a joke… but they stuck, and we wear them proudly. Because we share with these famous names the love for storytelling, for knowledge, and for thoughtful curiosity.
It’s our small tribute to the greatest Italian science communicators, who taught us how to look at the world with different eyes, to ask questions, to be moved by history, nature, art, and life itself.
